ISLAMABAD: The process of the seventh census in the country has been postponed for a month.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics has sent the census delay notice to all the concerned departments stating that due to unavoidable circumstances and reasons, it has been decided to postpone the field operation of the census.
According to the notification, the counting field will continue from March 1 to April 1.
The field operation for the count was originally supposed to start on February 1, while the counting process was to continue from February 1 to March 4. The decision to postpone the count was taken in the fifth meeting of the Census Monitoring Committee, which was held on January 17.
A copy of the postponed census has been sent to the provincial governments, including the Pakistan Army and the provincial authorities of the Census Bureau, the liaison officers and chief secretaries of all the provinces including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan have also been sent a census through the post. I have been informed of a month’s delay.
