Qal Khwani was organized to repose the soul of late senior journalist Khalid Chaudhary.
Khalid Chaudhary was a life member of Lahore Press Club, Patron General of Fellowship of Journalists, founding member of People’s Party, close associate of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. The last rites of the deceased were performed yesterday at the residence of his younger brother and Sahir Rashid Chaudhary, managing director of Sahir Associates, at Khayaban Amin Housing Scheme, Defense Road, Lahore.
On this occasion, the participants condoled Sahir Rashid Chaudhary and paid tribute to Khalid Chaudhary for his journalistic and political services. During the ceremony, the Quran was recited for the late Khalid Chaudhary and at the end, the well-known religious scholar Allama Dr. Sarfaraz Awan offered a collective prayer.
A large number of political and business personalities including well-known journalists participated in Qul-Khwani. Among them are Mujibur Rehman Shami, Imtiaz Alam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Parvez Bashir, Poet Baba Najmi, MNA Rana Mubasher, People’s Party Central Deputy Secretary Manoor Anjum, Pakistan Flour Mills Association President Asim Raza, Mashal Sahir, Ahmed Mujtaba, Balaj. Sahir, senior journalist Khalid Farooqui, Faraz Farooqui, Fawad Basharat and other personalities are included.
