Washington: US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price says that Pakistan is a close security partner of the US, Pakistan will do what is in its personal interest.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price said during the news briefing that the terrorist groups in Afghanistan have killed Pakistanis, Pakistan will take action when it sees fit, Pakistan has every right to defend itself.
He said that to stop Taliban terrorists from becoming a threat to the region and banned organizations like Al-Qaeda, Daesh and TTP, unilateral action to deal with the threat is not out of the question.
The US spokesman said that the Taliban had entered into an agreement not to use the Afghan territory for terrorism, it is in everyone’s interest to fulfill their promises, and condemn the actions of the TTP and other terrorist organizations.
He said that the threat of terrorism from Afghanistan remains, Pakistan will take all actions keeping in mind its interests and what kind of action Pakistan will take will be their own will.
Spokesperson for the US Department of State, Ned Price, further said that terrorists present in the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan are a major threat, we had taken action against Ayman al-Zawahiri in Afghanistan.
