Rawalpindi (Daily Pakistan Online) Change of Army Chief ceremony was held at the headquarters in Rawalpindi, where former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa handed over the command of Pakistan Army to General Syed Asim Munir, after the ceremony’s informal talk with journalists. While doing this, the former army chief said that he has done what he could for the country and the nation for 6 years as army chief, which he is satisfied with.
According to the details, outgoing Army Chief General Bajwa was sent out from GHQ with full honours, on this occasion Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, new Army Chief General Asim Munir, Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar, DGISI Nadeem Anjum and other senior military officers were present.
Retired Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, while talking informally to reporters, said that during his 6-year tenure as Army Chief, he did what he could for the country and the nation and he is satisfied with it. Looking aside, General Bajwa said that now the command of the force is in his hands and he is the best officer.
