Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting in poll-bound Gujarat’s Valsad district on Sunday and attend a mass wedding ceremony in Bhavnagar, a BJP official said on Saturday.
This will be the Prime Minister’s first visit to his home state after the election was announced by the Election Commission.
“Prime Minister Modi will address a public meeting at Nana Ponda in Valsad district on Sunday afternoon. He will attend a mass wedding ceremony in Bhavnagar in the evening,” BJP spokesperson Jaganesh Dave said.
Elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5 in Gujarat. Counting of votes will be on December 8.

The electoral contest will be tripartite due to the entry of Aam Aadmi Party into the fray.

In the 2017 elections, the BJP won 99 of the total 182 seats and the Congress 77.
