Pakistan cricket team all-rounder Shadab Khan came close to snatching an important honor from former national team captain Shahid Afridi.
Pakistan is currently playing the T20 World Cup in Australia, where the national team beat South Africa yesterday thanks to the brilliant batting of Shadab and Iftikhar Ahmed.
Against South Africa, Shadab played a brilliant innings of 52 runs off 22 balls and was awarded the man of the match award with 2 wickets.
However, now Shadab has come close to the record of taking most wickets in T20 Internationals for Pakistan.
Shahid Afridi currently holds the record for most wickets, with 97 wickets in 98 T20I matches, while Shadab has 95 wickets in 81 matches.
We can expect Shadab to surpass Shahid Afridi by taking 3 wickets against Bangladesh in the next T20 World Cup match. But if he fails to take a wicket against Bangladesh, he will soon take away this record from Shahid Afridi.
Note that Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the last match of Super 12 World Cup on Sunday.
