Chennai/Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday. At this time, he said, development is more important than politics.
Stalin, possibly referring to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, said there was no discussion of politics or elections. He said it was a courtesy call on Mamata Banerjee.
Stalin told reporters after a meeting with him for about 20 minutes that he had accepted the invitation to come to Kolkata as a guest.
Mamata Banerjee arrives at West Bengal Governor La Ganesha’s residence in Alwarpet, Chennai to attend a family function on November 3.
The West Bengal Chief Minister said, “When two leaders meet, we can talk about something, which is not about the political interests of the people, but development and other issues. I believe development is more important than politics.”
In response to a question, he said, he does not want to comment on any party.
