Calcutta Kolkata Police’s cyber crime team has arrested seven people after busting a gang of duping foreign nationals under the guise of a call centre. The arrested are Biswaroop Ghosh (22), Rajesh Ram (24), Babu Khatua (19), Rohit Das (18), Amar Das (19), Manish Singh (30) and Soham Das (22). . According to police sources, the Cyber ​​Crime Station police received information from confidential sources that some people in Salt Lake Sector 5 area are running fake call centers to cheat foreign nationals. Based on the above information, the police raided an office located on the seventh floor of Ambuja Nevatia Eco Station Business Tower in BP Block under Electronic Complex Thana and arrested seven people from the spot. Police recovered several hard disks, physical dialer and documents from the spot. Investigation revealed that the arrested accused used to call foreign nationals through voice over internet protocol communication system. He described himself as an employee of various foreign tech support companies. Then he used to cheat money from them in the name of installing internet services and software. They used to embezzle money from many foreign nationals by taking CVV numbers of their ATMs from their banks.
