Shivpuri: A government school teacher has been suspended for violating service conduct rules after throwing a party after serving alcohol and non-vegetarian food on the school premises in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, an official said on Wednesday.
A video of the party held at Government Primary School premises at Pota village in Khaniyadhana block on Monday has gone viral on social media platforms.
The teacher was suspended on Tuesday, the official said, without specifying when the party was held.
A villager alleged that the teacher thrashed some local people while in school drunk and making videos of such parties.
District Education Officer Ashok Srivastava said that the teacher was immediately suspended on Tuesday after the video was released.
The teacher’s work violated service conduct rules, the official said, adding that the action was taken on the basis of a report submitted by the block education officer and the sub-divisional magistrate of Pichor.
He said there were allegations of the teacher regularly organizing such parties in the school premises and recently a video clip of the same had surfaced on social media.
The official also said that further legal action will be taken after detailed investigation.
