BEIJING: (UrduPoint / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-2nd Nov, 2022) Pakistan and China have agreed to promote their multi-dimensional cooperation and further strengthen strategic partnership, including under CPEC.
This agreement was reached in a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing today (Wednesday).
The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation especially in the industrial sector.
Analysts say Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China will further strengthen Sino-Pakistan ties and speed up CPEC projects.
Former Foreign Secretary Nazmuddin Sheikh said that Pakistan’s relationship with China has gained special importance in recent times.
He said, there is a lot of investment opportunities in Pakistan for foreign companies and we need to build strong ties with China and invite Chinese investment in various sectors of the economy.
June Ahmed Khan, a journalist based in Beijing, said Shehbaz Sharif’s visit will advance the work of the CPEC project and increase people-to-people contact.
He said China has lifted millions of people out of poverty and developed their backward areas and Pakistan can learn a lot from China’s experience.
Dr Zafar Malik, another Beijing-based journalist, said it was a very important visit and the Prime Minister would probably include various new areas of cooperation in CPEC.
He said the visit is also very important in terms of economic cooperation between the two countries as they will sign several MoUs and agreements.
