New Delhi. On the one hand, today Congress leader Udit Raj has made a controversial tweet about President Draupadi Murmu. Now the BJP has also mobilized against the Congress on this issue. Along with this, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra has attacked Udit Raj fiercely on this issue today.
Today Congress leader Udit Raj tweeted about President Draupadi Murmu and said, “No country can get a president like Draupadi Murmuji.” Chamchagiri also has its limits here. Says 70% people eat gujarat salt. If they live their lives eating salt themselves, they will know.”

Now on Udit Raj’s tweet, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that, “The words used by Congress leader Udit Raj for President Draupadi Murmu are definitely worrying and unfortunate. This is not the first time he has used such words. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary of Congress also did so. This shows their anti-tribal mentality.”

My statement as regards Draupadi Murmuji is mine & nothing to do with Congress. Her candidature & campaign were in the name adivasi, it doesn’t mean she is no longer adivasi. My heart cries that when SC/ST reach to higher position, they ditch their communities & become mum.

After this incident, now Congress leader Udit Raj has come to ‘defensive mode’. He tweeted about this again and said, “My statement is private for Draupadi Murmu ji, not for the Congress party. Murmu ji was made a candidate and asked for votes in the name of Adivasis. Why did Adivasi become a president?” The President of the country is also the representative of the tribals. The cry comes when people go to office in the name of SC/ST then remain silent.”
