The Bureau of Statistics has said that the beginning of the current financial year has not been good for large industries

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The beginning of the current financial year has not been good for the big industry.

According to Bureau of Statistics data, production of major industries fell significantly in the first month. Large-scale production is down 16.5 percent from June 2022.

Compared to July of the previous fiscal year, there was a decrease of 1.4% in July of the current fiscal year. Textile production decreased by 2.2 percent compared to the previous financial year. Production of coke and petroleum products in the steel industry fell by 5.2 percent. Medicine production fell by 35.2 percent and food production by 9.3 percent.

According to Bureau of Statistics data, tobacco production fell by 75.5 percent and machinery and equipment production by 48.4 percent. Iron and steel production increased by 0.6 percent and ready-made garments by 4.4 percent. Furniture production increased by 2.2 percent and leather goods by 0.1 percent. Production of 11 petroleum companies fell by 1 percent.

According to the report, the production of large industries is 9.7 percent of the GDP.
