Rains wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh, 16 dead so far, Met department alert raised, tension NewsPipa

Rains wreak havoc in Delhi-NCR, UP. Many districts of Uttar Pradesh are receiving continuous rain. 16 people were reported to have died in separate accidents from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon due to rain. Etawah had the highest number of deaths at 10.

According to reports, one person died in Mainapuri, three in Firozabad and two in Kasganj due to rain and rain-related incidents. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the death in the rain-related incident. He directed the officials to provide proper treatment to the injured.

On the other hand, schools have been ordered to remain closed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh for the safety of children due to heavy rains. These include districts like Noida, Lucknow, Aligarh, Kanpur, Sitapur, Bahraich.

Chance of heavy rain for next 2 days

According to India Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely in many districts of Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. The IMD has issued an alert for UP till September 25. Officials of the Meteorological Department say that heavy rainfall may occur in Uttar Pradesh during the ongoing monsoon.

Farmers are worried

Farmers fear possible loss of paddy crops due to incessant rains. Vegetable crops were also damaged. Due to the increase in the price of vegetables in the market, there will be an additional burden on the common people due to the loss of vegetable crops.
