A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandyal heard the case related to phased acceptance of resignations of PTI legislators.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice advised PTI members to come back to the National Assembly and said, “People have elected you for 5 years, Tehreek-e-Insaf members should sit in the National Assembly and fulfill their role.”
Justice Umar Atta Bandial said, the economic condition of the country is very bad. Do you have an idea of how much it will cost if there is a by-election in 123 seats?
Reacting to this, Fawad Chowdhury said that with respect, the Chief Justice’s view is against the Constitution, five years is the term of the assembly, even if it is dissolved before that term.
With respect, the Chief Justice’s observation is inconsistent with the Constitution. The term of the assembly is five years, so it should be dissolved before this time and the people will not consider this assembly as representative. By which the election was closed https://t.co/FvOseZuUaj

Fawad Chowdhury said that the people do not consider this assembly to be representative, we are paying more than the election expenses for the Supreme Court’s decision to postpone the elections.
