India Monsoon News Live Updates for September 23, 2022: Schools for classes I to VIII have been closed in Noida and Greater Noida due to heavy rain on Thursday and more forecast for the next two to three days. The district administration of Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Thursday announced that schools of class I to VIII will remain closed on Friday due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, in Gurgaon, all private educational institutions have been advised to remain closed. Although no advisory was issued, Gurgaon was hit by floods in the Delhi-NCR region. Several parts of NH 48, especially the low-lying areas, were waterlogged. The Gurgaon administration issued an advisory to corporate offices and private institutions in the district on Friday to direct their employees to work from home to avoid traffic jams and ensure smooth repair work of roads and drains.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a yellow alert for Delhi. According to the IMD, moderate rain is likely on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well. Delhi-NCR receiving rains due to cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and southwest Uttar Pradesh. IMD officials said on Thursday evening that the system may persist over the same region for the next 24 hours.
